Control systems of the speed (Tempostat/Speedtronic)

General information

The control system of speed of Tempostat/Speedtronic is included in a basic equipment of the considered models. The system allows to support automatically chosen cruiser speed of the movement of the car without impact on the accelerator pedal. Value of cruiser speed has to be not lower than 40 km/h. Application of a tempostat becomes especially convenient at long movement along the low-loaded direct country highways. For the purpose of safety it is not recommended to include темпостат at the movement in the city, on twisting, abounding with turns, to roads, on a slippery paving, in a heavy rain and at other adverse weather conditions. In the listed above cases the driver has to have an opportunity to completely control the mode of the movement of the car.

Illiterate use of a tempostat can be the reason of the road accident!

Include a control system of speed only at movement along free highways and under favorable weather conditions.

During functioning of system there can be an automatic movement of the accelerator pedal which at the same time should not be held a leg in order to avoid damage of basic and axial mechanisms!

The control system of speed on the considered models can function in one of two modes: as темпостат a standard design and as system of variable restriction of the speed (Speedtronic), - switching of the modes is made by means of the understeering lever switch located at the left on a steering column assemblies of the combined understeering switch are higher. The same switch provides a possibility of management of functioning of a control system of speed within the chosen mode.

When using a tempostat on the models equipped with RKPP try not to allow excessive increase in turns of the engine, in due time making gear shifting, avoid transitions to a low gear with a transmission of intermediate steps.

Gear shifting, and also more than 4-second keeping of the squeezed-out pedal of coupling lead to shutdown of a tempostat.

Management of functioning of a tempostat

Switching of the modes of functioning of a control system of speed is made by pressing a face part at the same time activation of the mode of variable restriction of the speed (Speedtronic) is followed by turning on of the lever of the light LIM indicator which is built in in assembly.

The switch of activation/switching of control modes is located functioning of a tempostat on the right on a steering column (the principle of management in the standard mode, - the LIM indicator does not burn)

Standard mode

The design of the switch of a tempostat allows to enter into memory of system as the cruiser any current speed of the car if it exceeds value in 32 (petrol models)/40 (diesel models) km/h, - rather quickly to wring out a control lever up or down. After input of cruiser speed release the accelerator pedal.

Increase and decrease in value of cruiser speed is made by push-up of the lever up/down respectively and its keeping in this situation.

Up-down at the activated tempostat the speed of the movement can be modified by short push-ups of the lever with a step to 1 km/h. At a lever otpuskaniye after performance of adjustment of cruiser speed the new chosen value automatically is brought in memory of system.

Short-term acceleration of the car, for example at overtaking commission, can be made by squeezing of the accelerator pedal, - after a pedal otpuskaniye speed will automatically decrease to the tempostat of cruiser value brought in memory.

After dispersal of the car to speed higher than 32 (petrol models)/40 (diesel models) the cruiser speed brought in memory of a tempostat can be caused by km/h by short-term procrastination of the lever on itself.

Activate a call of cruiser speed from memory of system only if you remember its value and are ready to the movement with it.

At the movement with included tempostaty under a bias and uphill there can be deviations from the set cruiser value of speed.

For switching off of a tempostat it is enough to wring out the switch lever from itself, or to press its face handle. - the chosen value of cruiser speed will remain in memory of system.

When turning a key in the ignition lock in situation 1 or 0 there is a dumping of the tempostat of cruiser value brought in memory.

Leads to switching off of a tempostat also squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake, more than 4-second squeezing of a pedal of coupling (model with RKPP), and also transfer of the lever of the AT selector to situation "N" (models with AT).

Speedtronic mode

The Speedtronic system provides variable restriction of speed of the movement of the vehicle according to the chosen uka.

The variable limiter of speed allows not to exceed due to restriction of turns of the engine some established speed threshold, for example, in need of rigid observance of traffic regulations.

Do not forget that responsibility for excess of the high-speed mode is always born by the driver!

Activation of the mode of variable restriction of the high-speed mode is made by pressing a face part of the handle of the lever of the switch of a tempostat and is followed by operation of the switch of the yellow LIM indicator which is built in the handle, - the similar indicator is built in also assembly of a speedometer on an instrument guard of the car (see the Section Combination of Devices, measuring instruments and control lamps and light indicators).

The limiter is activated only provided that the current speed of the movement of the car differs from the extreme value brought in memory of system no more than on 30 km/h.

Change of value of speed limit (with a step to 10 km/h) is made by push-up of the lever of the switch up or down, the chosen value of speed limit will be highlighted on the screen of the display speedometer which is built in the dial under the burning LIM indicator. At the working engine input of any restriction of the high-speed mode, since value of 30 km/h is possible.

On models with AT the set limit of speed can be exceeded when squeezing the accelerator pedal against the stop with overcoming a point of resistance (inclusion of the kickdown mode).

Unlike the mode of a tempostat squeezing of a pedal of a foot brake does not lead to shutdown of the limiter of speed.

Exit from the mode of restriction can be made by short-term push-up of the lever from itself, or pressing an end face of its handle, - indication of LIM has to go out. Automatic shutdown of the limiter happens at dispersal of the car in the kickdown mode to the speed exceeding the established extreme value more than on 20 km/h.

If the limiter does not cope with an objective, for example, at the movement downhill, the alarm buzzer is activated, and the display of a combination of devices the message of "LIMIT EXCEEDED" is displayed.

Owing to design features of the indication of a speedometer can slightly differ from installations of the limiter of speed.
