 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Illustrative material on removal and installation of a head of cylinders of the engine of a series 111 is presented on illustrations to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Empty the cooling system (see the Head the Current leaving and service).
  3. Remove a broad tank of the cooling system (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating and the air conditioner).
  4. Otboltite a reception pipe from a final collector.
  5. Otboltite from transmission a basic arm of system of production of the fulfilled gases.
  6. Uncover the thermostat (see the Head of the Cooling system, heating and the air conditioner).
  7. Disunite contact sockets of the electrical wiring brought to a head of cylinders.
  8. Otboltite the inlet pipeline (19) (see the Section Removal and installation of the inlet pipeline), separate the last from a head of cylinders and take him aside.
  9. Disconnect the ventilating line.
  10. On engines with the aluminum inlet pipeline you otboltit an arm (2).
  11. Disconnect a hose of a cooling path (3) from a back part of a head.
  12. Remove a forward cover of a head of cylinders (see the Section Removal and installation of covers of the GRM drive).
  13. Otboltite the directing tube (7) of the probe of measurement of level of motive oil.
  14. On models with AT you otboltit the directing tube (8) of the probe of measurement of the ATF level.
  15. Having turned a bent shaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder into situation 20-30 ° after VMT.
  16. Fix camshafts (75 and 78) by means of blocking cores.
  17. Mark with a marker the provision of a gas-distributing chain on asterisks of camshafts.
  18. Remove a natyazhitel of a chain (14) (see the Section Removal and installation of components of the GRM drive).
  19. Remove from a head of cylinders a chain guide (see the Section Removal and installation of components of the GRM drive).
  20. Remove asterisks (76 and 74) of final and inlet camshafts.

Bolts of fastening of asterisks are subject to replacement without fail.

  1. Remove the inlet camshaft assembled with the regulator (see the Section Removal and installation of the GRM components).
  2. Priboltite arm (16).
  3. Take the directing pins (11).
  4. Turn out bolts (A) of fastening to a head of cylinders of a cover of the GRM drive (see the Section Removal and installation of covers of the GRM drive).
  5. In stages weaken, then turn out bolts (12) of fastening of a head.
  6. Check a condition of bolts (12), in case of need make replacement.
  7. Connect a lifting rigging to an arm (16) and to a back eye of the engine.
  8. Having lifted up, accurately separate a head from the block of cylinders.
  9. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of a head and the block, having completely removed from them all traces of material of old laying.
  10. Clean carving openings under fixing bolts.
  11. Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Illustrative material on removal and installation of a head of cylinders of engines of series 112 and 113 is presented on illustrations to which all references which are found in the text belong.
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Tire out the car on the elevator.
  4. On the models equipped with the engine 113.942 (ML 430) remove an airchipper (1).
  5. Empty the cooling system (see the Head the Current leaving and service).
  6. Uncover the power unit.
  7. On all models, except ML 55 AMG and ML 500 remove the cooling system fan with the viscous coupling, then dismantle a fan casing.
  8. On models ML 55 AMG and ML 500 remove assembly of the electric fan of the cooling system.
  9. Install the screen of protection of the К/В radiator/condenser.
  10. Remove the air cleaner (7).
  11. Remove an air sleeve (6) with the rezonatorny camera (7).
  12. Dump pressure in a power supply system (see the Head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases) and disconnect a fuel pipe from the fuel highway.
  13. Remove coils of ignition (12).
  14. Uncover heads of cylinders (13).
  15. Remove the CMP (15) sensor.
  16. Belt of the drive of auxiliary units.
  17. Remove the line of a cooling path (16) on the left head of cylinders.
  18. Remove a loker of protection of a wheel arch (9).
  19. Remove the deflector (10) (models with series 113 engines).
  20. Remove a basic arm of system of production of the fulfilled gases (11).
  21. Disconnect reception pipes of system of production of the fulfilled gases from final collectors.
  22. Having turned a bent shaft in the normal direction, bring the piston of the first cylinder into situation 40 ° after VMT in which there is no risk of collision of pistons with valves at a provorachivaniye of camshafts.
  23. Remove a natyazhitel of a chain (17) (see the Section Removal and installation of components of the GRM drive).
  24. Remove the case of an oil filter (18) assembled with the liquid heat exchanger (models with series 113 engines).
  25. Turn out bolts of fastening of asterisks of camshafts (19).
  26. Remove bridges of covers of camshafts (28).
  27. Turn out bolts of fastening of a head of cylinders to a cover of the GRM (20) drive.
  28. In stages release, then turn out bolts of fastening of heads (21).
  29. Remove a head of cylinders.
  30. By survey identify the version of laying of a head.
  31. Study a condition of fixing bolts (21).
  32. Carefully smooth out the interfaced surfaces of heads and the block, having completely removed from them all traces of material of old laying.
  33. Clean carving openings under fixing bolts.
  34. Installation is made as it should be, the return to an order of dismantle of components.

At identification on the interfaced surfaces of heads and the block of cavities installation of laying on heads is made with use of sealant.

  1. In conclusion make cleaning of the processor memory of system of onboard diagnostics.
